WordCamp Masaka 2023 is a great opportunity to volunteer and give back to the WordPress community. We are looking for volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences to help with a variety of tasks. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive event, and we believe that everyone has something to contribute. Volunteers will have the opportunity to meet other WordPress enthusiasts, learn new skills, and make a difference in the community.
We have a variety of volunteer opportunities available, including:
- Registration desk: Help with registration, distribute badges, and provide information to attendees.
- Session room monitor: Help ensure that sessions start on time, manage the room, and assist speakers and attendees as needed.
- Greeter: Welcome attendees, answer any questions they may have, and direct them to various parts of the venue.
- Swag distribution: Assist in distributing swag, ensuring attendees receive their WordCamp T-shirts, stickers, and other items.
- Food and beverage service: Assist with food and beverage service during the event, including setting up tables, serving food and drinks, and cleaning up afterward.
- Sponsor support: Assist event sponsors with their booths and provide support as needed.
- Speaker liaison: Assist speakers by ensuring they have everything they need for their presentations and helping them navigate the venue.
- Coordinating transportation for attendees, speakers and providing information on public transportation options.
- Social media: Help with social media during the event by posting updates, taking photos, and interacting with attendees online.
- Photography and videography: Help capture photos and videos of the event to share on social media and other platforms.
- Feedback and evaluation: Assist in collecting feedback and evaluations from attendees, sponsors, and speakers to help improve future WordCamps.
- Cleanliness and sanitation: Assist with maintaining a clean and sanitary environment, including cleaning up after meals, wiping down tables and chairs, and ensuring that restrooms are well-stocked.
- Technical support: Setting up & troubleshooting technical equipment, including projectors, microphones, and Wi-Fi.
- Volunteer coordination: Assist in organizing and coordinating other volunteers, assigning roles, and ensuring that everyone is on the same page.
- Security and safety: Assist with ensuring the safety and security of attendees, including monitoring entrances and exits, keeping an eye on the event space, and responding to emergencies.
- Parking and transportation: Assist with directing attendees to parking areas, coordinating transportation for speakers and sponsor representatives, and providing information on public transportation options.
- Accessibility support: Assist attendees with accessibility needs by providing information and assistance as needed.
