In this talk, I’ll explore how tech communities in Uganda can become more inclusive by creating spaces where everyone—regardless of gender, background, or region—feels seen, supported, and empowered to participate. Drawing from my experience co-organizing the WordPress Jinja and GDG Cloud Jinja and Web3 communities, I’ll share practical strategies for inclusive event planning, mentorship programs, and outreach that bridges the urban–rural gap. Attendees will leave with a toolkit for building communities that are welcoming, representative, and impactful.
