How to Reach Masaka, Uganda?
If you plan to travel to Masaka, Uganda by air, the nearest major airport is Entebbe International Airport (EBB), located approximately 130 kilometers from Masaka.

Private Airport Pick-Up (Pre-Arranged)
Private airport pick-up services from Entebbe International Airport to Masaka are available through local service providers. The cost typically ranges from UGX 400,000–500,000 (about USD 120–140), depending on the vehicle and service level.

The journey takes approximately 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and time of day.
Public Taxi via Kampala
If you do not have access to a private car, public taxis are a convenient and affordable choice.
- From Entebbe, take a taxi to either Kampala New Taxi Park or Busega.
- At Kampala New Taxi Park, you can seek help from locals to find taxis bound for Masaka. The local community is very helpful, but please stay alert and safeguard your belongings.
- The standard fare is UGX 20,000, but you can often negotiate it down to UGX 15,000.
- From Busega, fares are typically UGX 15,000 or less.
- In both cases, ask to be dropped at Ambiance Club Masaka.
Photo Opportunity: Uganda Equator in Kayabwe
If you’re traveling by private car, consider making a brief stop at the Uganda Equator landmark in Kayabwe for a photo opportunity — a popular attraction for visitors. Please note that public buses and taxis rarely make stops here. For directions, private travelers are encouraged to use Google Maps for the most precise and up-to-date routing information.

Directions from Drop-Off Points to the Venue
Upon arrival at Ambiance Club Masaka:
- You’ll find a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) stage right there.
- Tell the rider you are heading to Equator University, located behind Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
- The fare is UGX 1,000, and the ride takes around 3 minutes.
If driving a private car:
- Turn right from Ambiance onto the road leading to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
- Drive 800 meters to the Katwe Roundabout, then take the road towards Kijjabwemi.
- Continue for 300 meters, then look for the signpost to Equator University, which is about 200 meters off the road.
Travelers from Western Uganda or Rwanda
If traveling from Mbarara, other western parts of Uganda, or Kigali (Rwanda):
- Ask the bus driver to drop you at Gaz Petrol Station in Kijjabwemi, a designated stop.
- From there, take a boda boda to Equator University. Riders typically charge UGX 1,000–2,000, depending on your negotiation skills.
- If you’re in a taxi, ask to be dropped at the Masaka High Court.
- A boda boda stage is available there, with the venue about 3 minutes away by ride for just UGX 1,000.
Private car users can turn left from the UNRA office and follow the road leading to Masaka Hospital, driving roughly 1,000 meters until you find the venue signpost.
Travelers from Mutukula on Kyotera Road
Follow the route to Masaka High Court, then turn right onto the road leading to Masaka Regional Referral Hospital. As you continue, you will come across a signpost for Equator University—continue straight toward the venue.
Travelers from Ssembabule, Bukomansimbi, and Kalungu
On reaching the Kyakumpi–Mbarara Road junction (Nyendo–Kampala–Mbarara–Kalungu–Bukomansimbi):
- Take the Mbarara Road, pass Ssaza, and turn left onto the first tarmac road leading toward Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.
- Continue to Kijjabwemi, where you’ll see the signpost to Equator University.
